The one who has been praying hard not to get CP has finally got it..
Few days ago, my younger sister has not been feeling well after attending my company's family day last Sunday. She has the same symptoms just like my brother and I, with fever and sore throats before the pox 'showed up' ..
Yesterday was her second day of getting CP, she was extremely sad as her whole body and face has been covered with lots of pox. Moreover, she has to wear long shirts and pants to 'force' the pox out.. Hence, it was a terrible and comfortable days for her..
Both my mum and I are curious why she has so many pox compared to my brother (one of the luckiest person among us as his pox are the least) and I. My sister has not been feeling good since the pox are out. She has took the pills to stop the itch which was prescribe by the doctor but the medicine don't seems to work.. My sis has been complaing not able to sleep due to the itch.
Most likely, she has to tried some other medicine to ease the itch before she starts scratching the pox.. Let's pray hard for her then..

Returning to work tomorrow
After 2 weeks long of MC, I'm finally returning to work tomorrow. Although my pox have dried up, don't know why I still find that my body is weak. For example this afternoon, I'm helping my mum to hang out the few 'bamboo' of clothing outside our kitchen, and after that my back has been aching.. haiz
Hopes that everything will be fine tomorrow.. =)

Someone 'got' it too..
Yesterday, my brother came home from work with fever and body ache and was on leave today as he was not feeling well. In the evening, he was asking me if the spot on his shoulder is pox, which I told him it is not. After that, I saw 2 pox on his body, one on his left chest and the other on his right chest.
Hence, he went to the clinic to check if it was really CP and.... the doc has confirmed that he has CP and gave him 14 days MC. Now, he is sitting and grumbling beside me saying I'm the culprit who caused him to get CP. haha.. Anyway, wishing him speedy recovery..

My itchy fingers
Haiz.. I really do not know what to say about my 'itchy' fingers.. These fingers have been scratching and peeling of the pox that seems to be dried.. But actual fact, these pox are not dried yet..
Well, yesterday was 2 pox on my face and forehead and today, I scratched.. erm.. should I said 'peeled' of the pox from my scalp and ear (its more than 2 pox other than the ones from scalp and ear). My fingers just can't simply leave the pox alone.. Especially those on my scalp.. and that pox that I have just peeled off from my scalp today has a larger hole compared to yesterday one.. Oh man.. What am I supposed to do now?? Aarrgghh..
Together with the pox that I've peeled off from my scalp were 20 plus 'thread' of hairs.. Just in one week, my hairs has been dropping till I'm afraid that I might be bald in no time.. Especially when I washed my hairs during showers, the amount of hairs on the bathroom floor was shocking.. Not sure if it was due to the medication I'm taking or not.. But if this goes on, I'm really worried if my hairs will grow in time to replace the lost ones..
Any advice on hair growth? If you have it, please let me know.. Think I really need it.. T_T

Something about my pox..
Today is the day for me to see my doctor on my CP. But before I dropped by at the clinic, I have did something terrible to my pox in the morning.. I've totally forgotten that there are some pox on my face and forehead. While drying myself after bathing, I've used my towel to rub on my face. When I'm looking into the mirror, then do I realised that I've accidentally 'scratch' off 2 pox (1 big and 1 small) from my forehead and face. Especially, the one on my forehead, I can see the 'deep' hole that was yet to recover. I felt so sad for the whole morning because I'm worried that this hole may turn into scar that will be on my forehead forever.. even till the day I die..
Well, after I've seen the doc, I'm given an additional 3 days MC for me to rest at home due to the pox have been infected (even though these pox are in the stage of drying up). At the same time asking the doc on the pox that I've scratched off this morning.. He said this pox should not turned into scar if I've applied the oilment that he gave me.. With his words, I do felt that the saddness was gone. Now, what I need to do is to pray hard that what he said was true. Else, I'm going to scold that doctor when I see him again..
Pic of medication given by the doctor to stop the itch of my pox, antibotic and etc.
Amazing weight loss..
I was weighing myself this evening and to my surprise, I've lost about 5kg in a week... That was amazing!!..
Due to CP, there are lots of food that I'm not able to eat for the past one week. Hence, what I've been eating are bread, cereal, porridge, milk and water. Althought I should feel happy for the lost of weight, I do not really like the taste of what I've mentioned earlier.. Especially when I know that I've to restrict myself from eating seafood, chicken, anything that do with beans, or are black and etc.. for the next 30 days.. It's kind of tired and sick of eating the same food everyday, right?
Well, do hope that I'm having a speedy recovery so that I can start eating those food that I've been missing..

Welcome to this planet, baby Val =)
Yesterday afternoon, I've received a sms from one of my close buddies cum sisters that she has gave birth to a baby ger.
The day before that, my buddy messaged me that her contractions was like from 20 mins to 15 mins. We thought that the baby girl is about to come out from her mummy's tummy on that day. But later, my buddy told me that the contractions has changed to 25 mins instead of 15 mins. I was still teasing her, maybe her gal wants to be the birthday gal on 5th Dec, therefore decided to stay in her womb for another day.
I was right!! Baby Val really choose to see this world on 5th Dec. Since we are so far away, what I hope to see now are the pictures of baby Val.. feeling excited.. =)
Dear baby Val,
I'm happy to receive the message from your mummy telling me of your arrival. Wishing you good health, beauty and intelligent.. and I hope to see you soon~..
Love,
Auntie Christine

My 'Chicken Pox' days
The first and probably the last time where most people got their 'Chicken Pox' (CP) was during their primary or secondary school days.. Some who are slightly not that lucky will have it during their tertiary days.. For people like me who prayed for CP arrival during school days didn't have the chance to take long medical leave (MC) which means no chance to skip classes..
=(
Just a week ago, something I did not expected has happened and that was the arrival of CP. I've not been feeling well since last Wednesday and went to see a doctor after work. The remark that the doctor gave was high fever, 38 deg C. Even though I've taken the medication, the fever continued to go up on the following day to 39.3 deg C. On the third day, I realised that there are pox all over my back and was confirmed that I'm having CP after seeing the doctor again.
Many events that was planned weeks ago for the coming 2 weeks have to be cancelled because of this CP. Other then not able to attend these events, I felt sad for the first few days because having CP was troublesome. Not only I am not able to eat lots of food such as chicken, seafood (although I don't take seafood most of the time), food that are black, example anything with black soy sauce and more... Other stuff that I'm not supposed to do during my CP days are, cannot bathe, cannot have 'cold wind' blowing at me, must wear long pants and shirts, and more..
The first 3 days was considered the most critical days as the virus are much 'powerful' and will spread to others. As my siblings do not have CP before, therefore I need to stay away from them. Hence, my younger brother has to sleep in the living room and my younger sister has to sleep in my parents' room. (Really felt sorry to them but I've no choice either.. haiz)
There are more red pox popping out during the first 4 days, especially on the body and face. Some pox choose to grow on the tongue, gums and throat which caused difficulties for me to eat and swallow. Many friends have told me that having CP will be itchy and I do agree with what they said. Not only that, I also felt tired and sleepy throughout that few days which I've been sleeping most of the time.
Today is the 8th day I'm having CP. Some pox are slowly drying up but the rest are still the same, no sign of drying up (dunno why they are so stubborn).. haiz.. Really hopes that I can recover soon so that I can start doing my X'mas shopping for presents..

CCR4
Yesterday was the fourth combined contingent rehersal (CCR4) which was also the 63rd day countdown towards the National Day Parade (NDP 09). To add on, yesterday was one of the worst weather that we had ever encountered after so many weeks of rehersals.. It was extremely hot and all of us have to endure through out the rehersal under the sun.. Everyone was sweating just like an ice melting under the sun..
As this was the first time I'm particpating the NDP (other than being an audience sitting at the side of the stage), I'm feeling excited and looking forward for the NDP to start soon.. I believed I'm not the only person who is being excited, most of the participants (including the performers) are also feeling the same way as me as the days draw nearer to NDP.
Although the training was a bit 'xiong' (due to high expectation from the organiser), it was also a fun experience for me. Other than the usual march in to the platform, we'll also be marching out of Marina Bay.. Heard that the route was about 3.2km, we will be marching on the road where many 'eyes' will be on us and I belived all of us can put up a 'nice show' on that day infront of these people (Hopefully by then, all of us have built up our stamina for this marching).
Looking forward for the upcoming rehersals and hopefully after each rehersal, we can march 'swee swee' just like the uniform groups in SAF and police force..

NDP 2009
This is the first time I am participating in the NDP 2009 not as an audience but as one of the participants. At the beginning, the reason I joined this parade was to accompany one of my friends who was keen to be a participant. Best of all, we are the only 2 person from our union who will be participating in the event.
When many of my friends knew that I'm participating in the NDP, their first remarks was 'you so free arr.. got nothing to do is it?? or Why you want to waste time on this.., aiyoh..'. I was quite upset with their remarks. Although these are casual remarks, I feel that they should think before saying anything.. What if next time you participated in events which you are interested but I give you some remarks that you dun like to listen?? Will you feel upset?? If you can’t dun like the way people say things to you then please dun do it again..
I did not regret joining my friend in this event as I do enjoy myself during the past few training. Although I do not really understand the meaning of the marching commands at the first two training, I do managed to get some help from friends to translate the meaning to me.. hehe.. Though after the trainings, I do feel tired and hungry but I really enjoy myself.. keke
The participants that I have met in the trainings are mostly at the age around 40 & above and there are some who have been participating in the NDP for more than 10 years.. Amazing right?? Although all of us are representing different unions, we still have the same common goal which was to do the best during NDP..
Tomorrow is my fifth training that I will be attending.. In each and every training, our instructors has been teaching us new command.. As of now, I can see that everyone are trying their best to follow the instructions and ensure that they are working well with the rest of the participants.. 加油!! Let’s us work towards our goal together.. =)
